Welcome to everyone visiting the start of something very exciting, Scotts Ford Farm’s website/blog. Scotts Ford Farm is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, near Grottoes, Virginia. The farm is family owned, by Bain and Lisa Routhier. We raise registered Quarter Horses, and also provide high quality training, showing and lessons to both adults and children, in a relaxed, and fun filled environment. Our stallion, Im A Sporty Chip is on the property, for breeding. “Sport” passes on exceptional temperament, movement and looks.
Lisa Routhier, along with her husband, Bain, who has recently joined the National Guard, and is serving our country, are the owners of Scotts Ford Farm since 2007. They have been restoring and renovating the farm to be a full service, high quality horse facility in the valley. Lisa is in charge of all things related to the horses, training, breeding, lessons, showing, and varied other farm activities. Bain of course is right there helping in countless ways.
Scotts Ford Farm first and foremost is a place to have fun, enjoy the company of other “horsey” people, enjoy riding, and being with horses. We are not a high pressure show barn, although we do go to shows. We put learning, fun, and respect for all living things first.
We specialize in western riding. At the same time, many riders also ride english, and enjoy the many pleasures which go with english riding, jumping, low level dressage, and most of all, respect for your horse or pony. We are a farm in progress, having only lived here since 2007, we are constantly working on all the things that are needed on a farm. We would love to have you join us, and share our fun!
